TUPRO

Landslide Resistance - Strong - Environmentally Friendly

The rainy season has always been a worrying spectre for areas prone to landslides in Indonesia. This concern is indeed quite justified, as data shows that the incidence of landslides is relatively high; in fact, across Indonesia, landslides occur almost every day, necessitating special attention to prevent or mitigate the dangers of this disaster. To address the frequent occurrence of landslides, a prevention initiative called 'TUPRO' has now been introduced.

TUPRO (TUrap PROgresif) is a technology adopted from the technology developed in Japan. It is now designed and produced 100% in Indonesia. The basis of TUPRO technology is to combine the art of stone arrangement that has long been implemented in the construction of castles in Japan, with modern technology that binds these stones with precast products designed in such a way that they can interlock with one another.

TUPRO was first introduced in Indonesia in 2017 by Dr. Suyoto Rais, who is also the license holder for this method in Indonesia. It was then developed by Dr. Makmur Solahudin and Solihin, S.E., M.Pd, M.M. Currently, TUPRO has received recommendations from the Ministry of Public Works of the Republic of Indonesia and is ready to help address the potential dangers of landslides that have caused many casualties and property loss in Indonesia. The first TUPRO installation project was carried out at the Baubau PLTM in Southeast Sulawesi. To date, TUPRO is becoming known and has been installed in several locations in Indonesia, both for hydropower projects, riverbanks, toll roads, industrial areas, and other areas that require special handling for landslide prevention.
